Remove hardisks and RAID configuration on HP Net Raid Adapter in HP Server

Scenario, we have 2 channels, Channel 0 and Channel 1 with 6 (six) hardisks (HD) each channel. The system and booter in Channel 0. All HD on Channel 1 will be removed. The process as following:

  1. Shutdown the server and unplug all HD
  2. Start server, when process on HP Net Raid Adapter bios press CTRL M, wait until process go to HP Net Raid Express Tools screen
  3. Clear configuration with menu: Configuration -> Clear Configuration, and choose Yes
  4. Press ESC to exit from HP Net Raid Express tool, then press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart server.
  5. Wait until found “Operating system not found”, the push power off.
  6. Plug all HD at Channel 0, then push power on to restart server.
  7. At HP Net Raid Adapter Bios, process will be stop and found error “Configuration of NVRAM and drives mismatch. Run View/Add Configuration option of Config Utility. Press a key to run Config Utility”
  8. Press a key, wait until found HP Net Raid Express Tools screen.
  9. Configure Raid, from menu Configuration -> View/Add/Delete Configuration. From View Configuration menu, choose View Disk Configuration. Don’t ever choose View NVRAM Configuration, it will make all RAID info on disks erased/broken.
  10. Press F10 to set configuration, and choose Save on Save Configuration Menu
  11. Esc to exit from HP Net Raid Express Tools screen, then CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart server.
  12. Done/Finish.

This process has been tested.
